Thanks for tutorial.
It works fine receiving and sending
Only problem (which is not really one...): all mails i replied from my computer(before i enable POP) now appear in my "INBOX" folder and not in "sent items" on my PPC.

I'm a bit unclear about one thing...what do I have to do to sync the messages I download from Gmail on my Pocket PC to Outlook? I plan on being away for a while and want to make sure the mail I get on my Axim gets into Outlook when I come back. Thanks.

Popping gmail seemed to work for a few days, now it's down. I've rechecked every one of the settings, both on my Axim and on Gmail, but I still get the following every time:

I've tried it with and without port numbers identified; with and without "@gmail.com" after my username; re-enabling pop on gmail; and everything else I can think of.

What am I missing? Can anyone help?

Well at least I am not the only one having that problem.... Hopefully someone will have an answer.

After posting above I did a hard reset and reinstalled everything this afternoon. Always good to clean the slate once in a while.

As I was reinstalling Tweaks2k2.NET I realized that I had probably forced SSL off, causing the problem. In Tweaks2k2, under Internet Tricks -> Inbox, there's an option to force SSL off to speed up POP email (for email not requiring SSL). I don't know when I would have made this brilliant selection, but anyway Gmail works great now with SSL permitted to function.

I post this with some embarrassment, but in the hopes that it helps the next person. Thanks to JDH for an excellent primer.
