Reading Japanese Characters

After searching the internet for add-ons, language packs, and applets, I finally figured out the easiest way to read Japanese on my Axim. I copied msmincho.ttf from the font file of my desktop and put it in the font folder of my Axim. Now I can read Japanese! Of course, I can’t input Japanese, but for me, just being able to read it does the trick. :)

There's actually a specific Gothic ttf for Japanese characters you can find online. I think Declan's website has it. In any case, it's about half the size of msmincho.ttf, so that will save you some space.

Is this the Declan's site you were talking about?

Yeah, I downloaded that font and some of their trial soft. Took a bit of tweaking to get the Japanese to display but it's working now. All my documents from my PC use ms-mincho and I could read them with Gothic, but the characters were a little 'fat'. After installing ms-mincho, I changed the default font and it’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL! If you need Japanese on your Axix, you should try ms-mincho with clear type enabled. You’ve got to see it to believe it.
