risks against using visor screen protectors?

I just got my Axim X50v and thought there would be screen protectors included, but there were not. Any risk in using leftover Visor screen protectors trimmed to fit until my Brando (which your useful comments have steered me towards) arrives?

Don't necessarily go by my opinion, but I'm not going to use a screen protector on my replacement x50v. It's just a theory, but I'm thinking that when the screen protector is peeled off the screen, it pulls the upper membrane away, thus leaving the baggy screen syndrome.

Huh, I've never heard of this before, then again, it does make sense...

As for the OP, I don't think it would matter... All screen protectors are, for the most part, the same thing, just different sizes...

Thanks for the thought, I left a msg in the baggy screen thread asking if by any chance there is a brand associated with this, or if any other thoughts; maybe just coincidence ? For now, no screen protection for me, too many questions.

If you don't use a screen protector beware of soft resets. I had the dell proctectors and they were so bad I left them off. I developed a burr on the styles (I think from soft resets) and scatched the screen pretty bad in the writing area. Use a soft reset app for this.

Soft resets wouldn't do it. It's just time. What I do is when I pull out my stylus, I take a few moments and rub it on my shirt/pants/whatever cloth is available. It gets rid of junk on the end and helps protect my screen :)

Having had a wide range of PDAs I wouldn't have a naked screen. The risk of scratches damaging the screen is far more than the posibility of baggyness

I reset lots and it can snag on the side of the hole even more so with a case. If interested here is the link to soft reset apps discussion. http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=82401

You can always unscrew your soft rest adapter from the stylus, it is the black part and unscrews with a little force.

Haven't been doing many resets, hard or otherwise, but went ahead and put on this old Writewrite protector (leftovers from Visor I was gifted with and am planning to sell on Ebay); this thing is crap on a vga. Looking thru shower curtain at art gallery. Cannot wait for Brando to come rescue me...

Big Smile

I have been using the crystal screen protector for 8 months now and it is truly fantastic. Totally clear, doesn't scratch, doesn't stick to the screen like others I have tried. It is a bit pricey, but IMHO is worth every cent. It is washable and will go right back on just as nice as it was originally. Here is the link to check it out.

Thanks, my Brando hasn't arrived yet; taking this old protection off will be like having a new upgrade. I might get a Boxwave too just to compare, as those seem to get praise here often.

Now, I am frightened. I used a visor screen protector and was still delighted with the color and quality, since I was comparing it to the ole green screen. I have the protector on for months and now, I'm afraid to remove it. Anybody have - 1. suggestions on how to take it off gently? 2. Experience with any problems described?
Thanks.
