Trick to REALLY uninstall activesync!

DELETE

C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR USER LOGIN NAME>\Application Data\Microsoft\ActiveSync\

Directory, which will look like this underneath Profiles:

03/20/2003 07:52 AM <DIR> .
03/20/2003 07:52 AM <DIR> ..
04/14/2003 12:52 PM <DIR> Pocket_PC
04/14/2003 01:58 PM <DIR> Pocket_PC1
04/14/2003 08:59 PM <DIR> Pocket_PC2
04/15/2003 08:09 AM <DIR> Guest
0 File(s) 0 bytes

Right. In fact, I've found that when I've had problems with ActiveSync after a system restore, deleting these folders/files cures the problems. When you set up a new partnership with ActiveSync, it recreates the folders/files it needs in the Profiles folder.

Interesting. I only have one folder at this location called Profiles and it only contains one folder, my current partnership.

That's right. It only has the partnerships you've previously set up, including a Guest partnership if you had set one up.

If you've changed your device name in the past in attempts to get ActiveSync working, all these old partnerships will have a separate folder under the Profiles folder.
