Which video file types can be viewed on my axim? Sometimes I download .wmv files and they don't work. Also is there a way to convert them so they work? Thanks

I am no expert, but if thee extension
is WMV and it opens on your Desktop
then it should also open on the AXIM...

You can view almost any kind, of format
i personally convert all my vids to DIVX AVI
using Virtual DUB.. (dont think this opens
WMV files..) and I use Pocket MVP (in
the DL section..) Also, you can use Pocket TV
to play MPG files..

I think virtual dub CAN infact open wmv files. As long as you have some form of codec installed that suports it. Virtual Dub is a very flexible piece of software and as long as the codecs are there it can handle almost anything I think.

I made a few movies using Windows Movie-Maker2 and when you save the movie you must choose "Pocket PC Movie", i tried to use something different because i wanted to try something but when viewing, the picture is black on your Ax. After that i saved it in Pocket PC format and it worked just fine.

Maybe this is the problem, i haven't tried to view "standard" WMV files but i will do that soon to see if the problem is the same.

But for your conversion it must work, it works fine for me. I chop the files so they don't get bigger than 20Mb 'cause i've noticed that playing big movies will make it jerky in full screen, but after my hard reset there is more memory available so they run smoother now...

By-the-way i came across a AVI/DivX movie player yesterday which i will install in the coming days to check it out.

There are also a few tutorials present in the tutorials section (yeah where else :p ) about making movies for your Ax.
Check these out 'cause there full of great info about making movies for your Ax.
