Want your axim to look like these pictures? Well, you can do it all for free (except the pocketbreeze)
Here is how I did it first, I started out downloading all of the programs, and here is all of the links to them.
- psShutXP
- GSPocketMagic
- Icbar
- cLaunch
- Pocket Weather
Once you have downloaded these programs, you will want to download this theme (I prefer this one, you may want a different one)
Unzip this skin, and place all the files in /My Documents/royale
Once you have this done, you will want to go into the Icbar settings (Go in file explorer->Program Files->Icbar->IcbarSetup Note, the problem on Icbar) With wm2003, is the Icbar menu that has the close programs settings so we will have to fix that.
When in the Icbar settings, here is what you will need to do.
Example of what each one should look like.
Background - Menu Bar Check "Use External Graphic" then click on the "..." button. Expand the "My Documents", then expand the "royale" and click on WARoyale_background.bmp and hit ok.
Background - Task Bar Check "Use External Graphic" then click on the "..." button. Expand the "My Documents", then expand the "royale" and click on WARoyale_background.bmp and hit ok.
Battery/Memory (I didn't have this one enabled, but you can if you would like it. To enable, check the "Enable" box) Uncheck "Use Standard Graphic" then click on the "..." button. Expand the "My Documents", then expand the "royale" and click on WARoyale_battery.bmp and hit ok.
Close Uncheck "Use Standard Graphic" then click on the "..." button. Expand the "My Documents", then expand the "royale" and click on WARoyale_close.bmp and hit ok.
Custom Button 1 Skip
Custom Button 2 Skip
Date Skip
Icbar Check "Enable Icbar on Startup"
Icbar Menu Uncheck "Enable"
Logo Uncheck "Use Standard Graphic" then click on the "..." button. Expand the "My Documents", then expand the "royale" and click on WARoyale_start.bmp and hit ok.
Where it says "Tap" in the drop down menu, click it and click on "Hold". Now click the second "..." button. Expand the "Program Files", then expand the "GreenSoftware" and click on gspmagic.exe and hit ok.
Network Connection Check "Enable". Uncheck "Use Standard Graphic" then click on the "..." button. Expand the "My Documents", then expand the "royale" and click on WARoyale_connected.bmp and hit ok.
Network Connection Check "Enable". Uncheck "Use Standard Graphic" then click on the "..." button. Expand the "My Documents", then expand the "royale" and click on WARoyale_connected.bmp and hit ok.
Ok Uncheck "Use Standard Graphic" then click on the "..." button. Expand the "My Documents", then expand the "royale" and click on WARoyale_ok.bmp and hit ok.
Running Task Icons Skip
Small Date and Time Skip
Time Click on the "Colour" button, then click on white and hit ok.
Today Uncheck "Use Standard Graphic" then click on the "..." button. Expand the "My Documents", then expand the "royale" and click on WARoyale_home.bmp and hit ok.
Volume Uncheck "Enable Mute Icon". Uncheck "Use Standard Graphic" then click on the "..." button. Expand the "My Documents", then expand the "royale" and click on WARoyale_volume.bmp and hit ok.
Window Title Click on the "Colour" button, then click on white and hit ok.
There you go, you have your PocketPC looking like WA2 for free. The skin works with pocketbreeze too. Since the Icbar close tasks button doesn't work, that is why I told you to disable it, and put in GSPocketMagic. If you have any suggestions/comments, please post :approve:

Love this post JoeDoe! Thanks for the detailed explanation. I love this stuff but don't know how to do it, so I'll give it a try in the next week or so. Thanks for all the hard work on this.
I think I may "convert" some skins to Pocket Weather. I think that the non-free version takes gifs and the one i linked to takes .bmps so all i would have to do is change that.

I got bored, so i was making my own theme. Anyone want to help me design it? If anyone is good at making metallic looking buttons (like to click for home) Please PM me so we can make this a good skin :D

what kind of slowdown do you personally get with those progs..because every time i try something like wisbar, it slows down my axim horribly, as in i hit start menu and its, wait wait wait, oh there it is. and dont get me started on the visual corruption of menus thatd need to scroll to see all the items. that alone makes me uninstall it every time i try it
/edit: wtf does that down arrow in icbar do, every single time i press it, it crashes my axim.
/edit2: wow icbar loves to crash. constantly.
/edit3: WOW, ITS STARTING UP AUTOMATICALLY EVEN THOUGH I TOLD IT NOT TO. AND THE START MENU DOESNT WORK. FANTASTIC.

How can I get the date to appear beneath the time at the top of the screen? I had this setting at one time and loved it, but after a hard reset a while back, I haven't been able to rediscover how to do this.
