MUCH better deal than the EEE PC. I"m happy with my choice.

You obviously haven't carried your laptop around very much - for work everyday, interstate, overseas. Cheap laptops tend to be heavy. After a while, you realise that portability is a very nice feature to have, unless the laptop is strictly a desktop replacement, in which case, there is no more to add.
The EEE weighs around 0.9 kg and is the size of a paperback book. It can fit in your briefcase or luggage, and you wouldn't even know it was there. It is very functional, despite the small screen, and comes with Linux - but Win XP can be installed easily.
Ultraportable light laptops are usually much more expensive than larger better specced laptops, but the EEE has turned this around by also being the cheapest laptop. The price of the EEE is cheap enough so that if it became damaged or lost whilst travelling, I would not be as concerned as if I carried an expensive ultraportable (eg Sony VAIO TZ)
I love my 13 inch Macbook which is a pleasure to use, but since buying the EEE, the Macbook stays at home, and the EEE goes everywhere with me (in addition to my X50v of course).
The EEE is also a hacker's dream in regards to maximising it's potential, but is also suitable for computer illiterates/young children if you stay within its customised Xandros interface.
I think it will sell millions.
