A 4705 vs a Sony UMPC

You can actually get your hands on the sony umpc and the samsung umpc at best buy. At least you can here in almost rural maryland.
I held the sony next to my 4705. There is little discernible difference in the size of the screen. To my mind the keyboard stinks, the buttons are to flush with the surrounding surface, and it didn't have handwriting recognition. I think it was a N50, there was a 50 in it's name but i was so underwhelmed at what it had to offer at $2000 till i was semi in shock.
I also tried the samsung. The screen is a good bit bigger than the 4705 but it didnt have handwriting recognition either, it's on screen keyboard stank as well
,it wasnt very responsive to my stylus taps, and while it did say it had a wifi connection... it never maid it online. I was again seriously underwhelmed.
I came across a 17" hp media center laptop for $949. Guess which I am really thinking of going.

Having seen it in the flesh, I would consider a the sony to holster-able if you are a little geeky. And I would get one as a toy. But as a serious tool to use everyday to get real work done.
Homey dont thinks so.
