Calligrapher - Poor letter recognition problems

Greetings fellow aximers,

I have had Calligrapher for a few months on my X30H, and generally have had not much problem with it (it's mostly my writing that's the problem), but just recently (just after a hard re-set, I think), it has started "misbehaving", with very poor letter recognition.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it. I have re-aligned the screen - but so far, no joy.

Has anyone else had this problem, and solved it - and maybe would like to share this with me ????

Many thanks

Jim

I had a similar issue, and it turned out that I had inadvertently changed the letter orientation (the arrow in the lower left in the calligrapher toolbar) to something other than portrait) Tapping it until it was straight up fixed it for me

I just added a new screen to the x51v and found the word recognition afterwards was lousy. Thought I damaged the screen but after reading donc36's fix I realized my error. Thanks Donc36. I guess I need to read up more on what caligraphy can do.

I changed the toolbar elements so that these kinds of inadvertant changes can't happen easily. I also learned the hard way that eliminating too many letter forms can actually make recognition worse. Bottom line is not to mess with it too much and just let it learn and do the job.
