Uninstall problems

I have 2 problems occuring following program uninstalls. I used the resident uninstall program, and then tried memaid and SKTool trial versions after researching the forum. None have worked properly.

Here are the problems:

1. After powerup or soft reset, I get a status box with the following: "ActivateDevice failed, code 64a hex." I suspect this is following the uninstall of the Links golf game demo.

2. After turning on from sleep mode, I get a Notification Error box which states: "Cannot execute \Program Files\Skype for Pocket PC\Skype.exe."

As far as I know, I uninstalled the programs correctly.

Any advice?

No, I don't think so. I looked there, but nothing obviously pointing to those programs.

I get a Notification Error box
If you're getting a notification error, that isn't a startup item, it's in your notification queue. You can use memMaid or phm Administrative Tools to delete items from your notifications.

Well, that's what I thought too. But in the "Notification Queue" tab of memaid, nothing is listed. And if I hit "find duplicate", it says none have been found.

I'll try the other tool you recommended.

It might be a registry entry. try to hard reset without clearing the data

How do you do that? I understood it that a hard reset would wipe out all your programs.

When you hard resset the unit it ask you if you want to clear the data. You press the appropriate button according to what you wish to do. At lest this is how it works on the X30H and X50v. I hope it is the same with the X51

By "data", do it mean all installed programs?

Yes, all install programs unless install to SD CF or BIS. I have done this many time and it fixed problems that soft reset couldn't.

Yeah...I'm not sure the x51v works like the X50. When I install programs, it gives me two options: install on device or install on CF card (I'm sure it would give me SD if I had one in it).

I'm not sure it has the BIS option.

Am I missing something?
