Hi everyone! Just got my Axim51v and would like to install cabinstl freeware from s-k-s-tools.


I have the software in zip format and after extracting the zip file, there where 3 different types of applications:

cabinstl_de
cabinstl_en
cabinstl_ru
Which one do I install? What's what? Will it work with the WM5.0? Does not run in the PC. Do I have to transfer the files into the Dell Axim?

Anxiously waiting for any response.

If your ppc language is in english transfer the cabinstl_en to your axim and run it from there! cabInstl is a great program! you won´t regret it... good luck

Msn Status:

cabinstl_de = German language
cabinstl_ru = Russian language

You will have to transfer the cab files from your computer to either the built-in storage or a flash card on your Axim.

You can find the cabs in the Microsoft Activesync directory on your computer in Program Files.

Make sure you tell cabinstl to NOT delete cabs after installation.

CABinstall isn't as useful on the X51. WM5 will give you the option of installing cabs in main memory or a flash card and leaves the original cab in place.

I had CABinstall on my iPaq but, as I said, it doesn't seem necessary with WM5 since it will give you an option to install cabs onto an sd card (and I assume a CF but I haven't used a CF memory card in the X51).
