Turning Display Off for Music

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a simple program to turn off my display while I listen to music. Preferably this would be something that would allow me to keep TCPMP maximized so I can still change tracks and stuff without turning on the display.

Thanks

and it stays like that too, rather than the simple inactivity shutdown where a screen tap will wake it back up, but this method keeps it off/on.

sorry... perhaps I should have been more specific...

What a wanted was something to actually turn the display off and not just the backlight. The VGA display eats up about as much battery as the back light does so turning them both of is advantagous.

Where the heck have I been? I didn't even realize that Beta Player had been renamed.

Anyway, yes, there is an option to turn off the display. Just go into Options>Settings>HotKeys. I'm assuming the same menus exist on the newer version of the software.

They are the same. I wish MS followed the same philosophy.

In Windows Media Player on Pocket PC 2002 SE you can go to Menu -> Options -> Buttons -> scroll to "Toggle Screen", and set a hot key to turn the screen on and off.

The program I use to play my music is GSPlayer and I love it. Its free, simple clean interface, and plays all the formats I need. - Later

a program called psShutXP allows you to turn off, turn the display off, and soft-reset your Pocket PC in an XP like interface. Here's the link: http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/psshutxp.shtml. It's free, and has cool skins you can use too.

When WMP10 for PPC came out on the WM2003SE devices button mapping just wasn't the same. PPC devices with WMP10 can only map the d-pad.

tcpmp is the only program I use, and it has a display off option. just assign a key to it.
