I think you are after something like Pocket Controller Professional which can be found at http://www.soti.net/default.asp?Cmd=...s&SubCmd=PCPro
It works well, although it could be faster.

There is also Microsoft's Remote Display Control for Pocket PCs, part of the power toys collection. It displays the PPC screen on your PC and allows you to use your PC keyboard and mouse to control the PPC. I don't know if it works with WM5 though.

The display quality is significantly worse than on the Axim (X50v) itself, and the display appears slightly smaller. Using the zoom (2x or 3x) only makes things worse. It's also quite slow. So in summary it is a great way to enter large amounts of data or to copy data from it to the PC via the clipboard, but have the Axim in a handy location if you want to actually read the text Thanks pfrank for the pointer. I also tried Pocket Controller Professional (suggested by Riker) back in the WM2003SE days. This was a while ago, but my recollection was the display quality was better. However I couldn't see spending that kind of money for the kind of occasional use I would put it to, so I didn't re-try it on WM5. Mike

Install VNC server on your ax, and on your desktop use vncviewer to view it:

I use SOTI Pocket Controller and LOVE it! I use it practially daily. The number of option, recording, soft reset, etc. makes this a great app!
The only drawback I found is a special setting in the software (on the Axim) that allows you to enable video acceleration. Checking this box hangs the Axim at the Dell bubble causing a hard reset. Thank goodness for frequent backups... ![]()

It looks like you can still get it for $15 here: http://www.dotpocket.com/aximorder.html Don't know about WM5. It doesn't look like it's been updated for WM5. Keith
