Sprite Backup/Install?

I have checked the Sprite website but can't find an answer so I turn this forum.
Is it possible to do a backup onto a SD or CF card and after a hard resest, be able to restore the programs that were on the unit and have the unit function just as it did before the hard reset?

And if you create the backups as .exe files they can restore without Sprite being available.

There's link to my backup strategy (modified somewhat for PPC, was originally for Palm) in my MyPDA. Obsessive-Compulsive might have a hyphen....

What programs/software should be backed up as .exe?

Sprite Backup provides the capability to make the backup itself an .exe file, so it can be self-restoring; all you have to do is run it (the backup itself, that is).

Check the box Create self-restoring Backup Files under General backup Options in the Sprite Backup options.
