how can I easily set softwares to begin after soft reset?

Hi,

I read somewhere that I should use SHGetSpecialFolderPath, but I have no idea what it is and how to do it.

Is there a software that does the programming part for me?

Thanks a lot guys!

Use a file explorer to navigate to the directory containing the .exe of the program you want to startup after reset. Tap and hold on the .exe file and copy it.

Then, navigate to \Windows\Startup\ and tap and hold in the folder list, then Paste Shortcut.

Every app shortcut you place in the startup folder will start after every soft reset or power-on.

Just as an add-on to this thread, to save space, I make a link out of the .exe I am going to make, and then copy that to the startup folder.

Just an old trick from my Ipaq days were /Windows memory space was of prime concern. The .exe can be many meg, while a link is usually under 80k.

Good point. Actually the best way is to paste shortcut.

So tap-and-hold and Copy and then in the target folder instead of Paste you choose Paste Shortcut.
Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

Not only does it save space, but if the .exe depends on other files, it'll either fail or create a new file in your windows\startup folder.
