Best Backup program...

Hi,
What is in your opinion best backup utility?
I'm wondering if exists a backup program that allows you to make a backup of all your installed software, and after a hard reset to put it back.. or something like this..
I need to make some tests, and is possible to lose everything and have to perform a hard reset...
Thanks
x51v A06, WM 5.0 build 14410.1.1.3

Sprite is the best and will do everything you need, I have used it to do a complete system restore after a hard reset and it worked flawlessley.

If you have WM5 they were saying the WM5 version would be out around Xmas. edit - still not out yet.

I would also say that Sprite is the best. It allows you to do everything you would need to do to make a successful and easy backup (at least for me). I am using it on 2003SE and it works great, and I am sure when they come out with a WM5 version it will be great as well.

Definitely agree with this. I backup to both my SD Card and to my PC. I have performed quite a few hard resets (after doing something stupid - not the Ax's fault) and have restored everything perfectly.

I do a daily backup that does not include the persistent storage, then once a week I do a "full" backup onto the PC that includes persistent storage.

(x50v running PPC 2003se) It's worth waiting for the people at Sprite to clear up their issues with WM5!

How long does an average backup take? I know it depends on what you have but.

1 minute 5 seconds for roughly 7 MB (Persistent storage not included) - To SD Card

1 minutes 46 seconds for roughly 14 MB (Persistent storage not included) - To SD Card

23 minutes and 28 seconds for roughly 419 MB (Including Persistent Storage - BIS and SD Card) - To PC My Documents Folder

Hope that helps.

But, have you tried contacting them? I sent two emails and no reply after several days. I was considering purchase, but not if they are that unresponsive.

Sprite Backup.

But, you can use the backup that ships with the Axim.
Part of ActiveSync! Works too.

Staring down the throat of a hard reset as we speak, i vote for Sprite. I don't know about sunnysoft, but the SPB beta that I am beta testing does not include persistent storage. This is a must for me because, i found out the hard way, that some files want to convert and not simply copy if you don't use a back up program.

I talked to SPB about the persistent storage and they did not see the need to provide it

Activesync is a lot slower for me, so it's Sprite for me.

The backup process that is used and is tested now and again to validate the recovery process is the best one. I use Sprite Backup currently. Refer to the link On Backups under my View MyPDA for more detail.
