Say, quick question - does the Freeup RAM option work in WM5 as well? You probably know how big the GWES and other portions fo the OS get (I've found that, sometimes, I lose about 3MB apiece for GWES, Filesystem, and system32), or is that a WM2003SE option only?

"Freeup RAM" tested on some WM2005 devices and work. As example on 2410 this release ~1.2M, on axim 50v ~2M. Both devices have wm2005 and before work without SR 20-30 hours. One differense with wm2003 and wm2005 devices: for wm2003 need 5-15 seconds for this operation, for wm2005 can be 25-50 second.

Can you explain how "Freeup RAM" works? I'm not asking you to give away any trade secrets, just an easy-to-understand explanation. I upgraded yesterday and used it to take my RAM from 10megs to 21megs.

Using it repetitively, it continues to find chunks of RAM to free-up. Where does it find it? Are some functions of other programs being disabled?

SKTools "say" to Operating System "RAM space very small, very small, need some do..." and do some for "present situation exactly such", OS after this send WM_HIBERNATE to all programs and make some other do for release used RAM resources like gwes objects etc. Some programs after receive WM_HIBERNATE can release unused resources, some not. But we have some memory released after this and you can see with sktools "Process" option - for some modules RAM usage is decreased.

usually, through two-three attempts we get "0KB released". This not do any for disable function of other programs. Only one effect - if in "FreeUp RAM" call time active Today window and exist any memory meters plugins - this plugins can be freeze. I think because he "dont know" how do in this situation.

I'll give it a try - I just bought SK Tools last night, since it has some features another program I've been using doesn't have, albeit with a less intuitive interface. I just reactivate something with Wisbar Advamce 2 after this goes through, yes?

In any case, this program works as advertised, and the backup and Storage Card management functions are great.

Okay, just tried the 'Freeup RAM' feature with WM5 and Wisbar Advance 2 (build .20) loaded, and now my system's locked up. Doh. Doing soft reset now.

Can you make following:

Start SKTools
Go into Process option
Action > Save list... > Give a name for the list and save it
Go into Today Plugins option
Action > Save list... > Give a name for the list and save it

Send us the saved lists to check > support2@s-k-tools.com

Pls try also to disable Wisbar Advance 2 to check FreeUp RAM again.
Do you have SPB PocketPlus installed ?

Some memory meters (Today plugins or other programs) can freeze system if FreeUp RAM started. Try run this option from sktools (Process->Action->Attempt To Free RAM Space) but this can help if meters on today screen.
