Program Bar icon weirdness...

I have had this problem a couple of times with Battery Pack's Program Bar, but this time I caught screen caps of the issue.

I don't know what causes this, nor how to fix it. If no one else has run into the problem, I may email Omega.

Normally, I have several lines of icons (shortcuts) set up in program bar. The first line should show the date, and 7 icons, as the Tuesday picture shows, on the right.

Randomly (and only occasionally), the first line shows as Monday did, on the left. It drops off an icon on the right, and seems to shift everything over (as if there is a space in front of the date). Other lines also have icons missing, added, or shifted to the next line.

Is this just me?

Might sound stupid but could it be the date from one day to another takes up more room than the previous? Some numbers may be wider than others and this could be pushing the icons over. What happens if you set the date back on the Ax to the 19th?

I had the same thoughts. You might want to turn off date. You'll get several more icons on lines.

I don't use the scroll tabs, but rather, just three lines of icons.
Some dates are longer than others, but this never changes anything ... icon spacing-wise.
I had a screen background where the date appeared in a "window", and had to get it down to the pixel.

Try it without the scrollers and see if it acts correctly for you.
Persistence can pass for brilliance
FFR Roadster on order for 04/3/04.

Thanks for the ideas. I'd thought of a text-width issue (one being much narrower than two) but it doesn't happen all the time, and discounted it. Maybe I shouldn't have.

I'll try to dump the date, and the scroll bars, and see what happens. Otherwise, it sounds like no one else has run into this?

And Mike, where do you drop the scroll bars, anyway? I don't think I've found that...

You're not the only one who has this issue. I have mine set up the same way and have the same intermittent issue with the icons shifting.

To drop the scroll bars, uncheck the single line scroll in the Today:Program Bar:Options screen.

Oh right, just to have 3 rows static on the Today screen? Sorry, I thought there was some secret way to get them to scroll without the dang little scrollers, like Journal Bar. I think I'd go back to tdlaunch if I keep things on multiple static lines, but thanks for the hint, MikeC.

Thank you for posting that you have seen this too, ercaba. This morning, I'm back to the date and 6 icons...as May the 21st, that is a narrower date than May the 20th, which had 7 icons and the date showing.

I'm going to email Omega, and will post if I hear anything.

I went and searched the Battery Pack forum:

http://www.wormholecreations.com.au/...id=325&posts=9

for this problem (the forum addy had been posted in an earlier, slightly testy thread about BP and it's battery life issue).

Anyway, it seems others are definitely seeing this issue, too.

I hope Omega is listening! I'm starting to wish I had just lived with tdlaunch, and Zap!

Omega responded that they know about this problem, and are working on it. *drumming fingers on table* I think I've heard this from them on several other issues recently, too.

At any rate, this morning (Sun, May 25) almost ALL of my icons are gone... but if I happen to remember where they WERE, I can still use them. So in addition to moving locations of visible icons, occasionally they remain where they were, but stop displaying the icons.

Huh?

I've been using BP since Feb. and haven't had any trouble with the program icons. Maybe it's because I don't use the scroll on one line option. I think I'll try it and perhaps I'll see this issue first hand.

Jims, don't start! LOL... Omega software has enough trouble without going looking for more.

I'll post back if/when they say they have a fix.

Tried it. Saw the issue. It's strange. Went back to what I had. No more problems.
