x86 emulator?
Is there an emulator that will let me run a program that needs a 486/66? Also, if I get a serial sync cable, can I use that as a serial port for the axim? If not, is there any other way to get a serial port?

The only emulators I know are either pocketdos(www.pocketdos.com) or xtce (now pocketdos)unfortunately niether will run anything higher than an 8086 with cga graphics - the developer of pocketdos states that any further advance on processor spec would slow down machine too much - I m not a software engineer and therfore cannot verify either way.
I do not personally recomend pocketdos - its very pricey(for pocketpc software anyway) $40 dollars - although it has the potential conceptually to be a great programme the current processor\graphic limitations are very frustrating!Programs that will run on emulator in my opinion have pocketpc equivalents that are much better\neater and software developed at the peak of dos development is just not usable.Ther is a demo available at website. Also I have heard reference to a dos development called `bosch`I cannot track down and there are references to the development being stopped - it is rumoured that this emulator is capable of 2086 < Boothy | |||||
