cant seem to add contact In Pocket Informant

I can't seem to be able to add a contact using Pocket Informant. I have tried clicking both the ok button afterwards and the check mark box. After creating the contact I go to look for it and it's not there.

Can you see it in Pocket Outlook (or on your desktop outlook if you sync your device) If the answer is yes you might find you have a filter turned on in PI ....

Yepp! That did it. I switched to Pocket Outlook and there was my contact. I have my contacts assigned to groups such as "personal" "family" etc. How do I assign them to groups as I create them? Switching back and forth like this just seems like a pain.

Yes, I do have a copy of the users manual. I've looked at the section abot contacts
and it doesn't talk about how to edit the contact as to catagory preference, I even tried the add fields funtion and it doesn't have any field for catagory. Do you
know how to do this?

When creating a new contact (or editing an existing one) there are five icons across the bottom. The categories is the third one. It is on page 13 of the manual. See also page 80+. There is also the icon at the bottom of the PI screen that lists your contacts. The icon that looks like a funnel. It is used to set and unset category filters for the current view.

Glad I could be of assistance. Categories are very powerful on the PPC, especially when used with a PIM enhancement (like PocketInformant) and/or with a Today screen enhancement (like PocketBreeze). I have several dozen categories and many entries are assigned multiple categories. Also, the ability within PocketInformant to create and use templates is very useful as a template maintains the category (or categories) assigned to it when it was created.
