Question New Axim x51v owner...here's my proposed software list. Any Suggestions?

Hi Everyone, I recently purchased the Axim x51v (along with the Dell GPS Navigator, Dell flip case, Belkin 2-in-1 charger, Sandisk 1 gig SD card, and WiFi Companion). I've recieved the GPS unit but the Axim won't arrive until Tuesday. The following is a list of software that I plan to purchase and in what memory it will go. Can anyone add/delete anything from my 'must-have' list? Also, am I putting the programs in the correct memory area? Thanks everyone! I'm sooo glad I found this site!

iLauncher (launcher) = RAM
PocketBreeze (today screen) = RAM
Pocket Informant (PIM) = BIS
Sprite Backup (backup) = BIS
MemMaid (free up memory) = RAM
HandySwitcher (close apps) = RAM
HandyMenu (access settings) = RAM
Resco File Explorer

Pocket Brez

Yes, yes, & yes.

Everything else "bleh". Make sure to also get SPB Pocket Plus, which will do a lot of stuff you want

You mention BIS and RAM. The X51V can be either thought of as having no BIS or as having all BIS. No distinction in WM5 anymore.

Also, you might check out folks View MyPDA to see what they use. While your list looks very good (to me, anyway), you might consider taking advantage of the trial periods where available to be sure of what you like before committing your funds.

absolutely correct !!

just 2 choices ... either DEVICE ... or ... MEMORY CARD !!!

~~~
sometimes I see some tried to help but ended up adding more to the confusion !!!
my personal rule of thumb:
anything to do with performance/cosmetic enhancing ( memory, todays, Wisbar...etc ) --->>> DEVICE
other minor leisures ( games, non essentials, multimedia ...etc) --->>> MEMORY CARD
although, with 256MB ... there's plenty of room
There are entire threads on the task switcher/close app topic and also on the SBSH vs Spb product lines. Again, I suggest that you try before you buy. There is a reason why these different products survive in the marketplace: because different people are different and like different things. Find out what you like.
You have a very good software portfolio but you might like to consider adding SBSH ContactBreeze and PocketWeather. Like most good software, they both have trial versions so you can see if you like them befoer you buy.
Also you will probably find you need a better file explorer that the "built in" one. Resco is generally considered the best, but it has become rather expensive. Good alternatives are Advanced Explorer (about $3) or Total Commander (freeware).
If you want to watch movies or play music TCPMP (also free) will do both and is an excellent player. It is soon to be re-named back to BetaPlayer which is what it was originally called.
There are a lot of Utilities for cleaning the system and freeing up memory but SK Tools is by far the most comprehensive in my opinion.
Finally there is a mass of freeeware available. A very good site is www.freewareppc.com but there are several others.
Welcome to the site and enjoy both Aximsite and your new toy.
Looks like a good list. As others have suggested, you can try out various freeware and run trials of various commercial software before you decide what works best for you.
