Inputting into PDA from desktop
Newbie Axim x51v user here (previous Palm user).
This whole PocketPC/Outlook learning curve has been a bit difficult. Kinda like switching over from Macs to Microsoft! Point being, Outlook sucks and the Pocket PC organizer sucks. I've picked up Pocket Informant, MemMaid, Resco File Explorer, thus far based upon reviews here. The majority of the time I will be on a desktop computer. I don't want to learn Outlook (and it sucks), and most people here have said that Pocket Informant is just as good and more intuitive. So, I'd like to enter data into the PDA via my desktop keyboard and mouse so that I can utilize Pocket Informant/Resco, etc from the desktop. Hopefully then I also avoid sync issues and Outlook (duplicates) between my home and office computers. The only software that I've seen that can do this is Pocket Controller. It would also be nice to be able to enlarge the PDA screen as well, just to make it easier to navigate. As an organizer, the PocketPC platform is a real pain in the $%&# compared to the Palm Platform. I'm hoping the networking/video other features make up for pain of conversion! Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Pocket Controller is the best known and most feature rich program that does that sort of thing, but it's also the most expensive
There are other progams out there (some of them free) with varying levels of functionality and picture quality, inc. "Remote Display Control Host" and "PDA Controller 2.0" to name a couple. My experience is they all tend to have a bit of time lag, which can get a bit annoying if you're using them a lot, but i certainly agree with you about the whole Outlook thing, esp. the fact that "snoozing" of reminders doesn't seem to get synched Anyway, good luck

Check out Remote Keyboard. you can use your desktop keyboard and mouse through activesync or wirelessly. it doesnt
display your screen on the computer, justf transfers you keystrokes to your axim. it is very fast and i use it all the time.
