Free Utilities

I'm trying to help a friend set up his PDA (running 2003) and I'm trying to find some free utilities and apps that would come in handy (e.g., one that would really close apps and not minimize, battery meter, weather, etc.). I used commercial software and am not familiar with the freeware. Thanks for any advice!!

Magic Button is a very popular free one for closing apps - available here:

Instead of Magic button I use tMan, which does the same thing except better, and is also free. Just google tMan.

I am studying MS VB05 right now, so if you can give me any tips or need some help on something I would be glad to help(or try).

Check out threads by stormloader and LocutusBorgMan (stickied), they have plenty of free apps. including several that close programs, magic button and vbar to name a few. Some that are launchers and other today plugins as well as useful applications for fun and work. Look those over and then you can ask questions about specific applications.

w3iner, thanks for the intro to tMan. It looks very nice.

EDIT Check out myPDA. Those are the programs that I had loaded when I had 2003se. I used all of the free ones plus the bluetooth update pretty regularly.

With a search on the term "freeware", you would have found this thread.

I suggest cabinstal. Also, head over to www.solsie.com. There is a whole section over there of free downloads to try.

Try Freewareppc.com, it has tons of stuff! It is even organized by catorgory, so you will find stuff you didn't know you needed.
