Software to "Power Off' x51v without using the power button?
Is there a way to 'Power Off' the x51v without holding down the power button on the pda?
I have software that can 'Suspend' or 'Soft Reset' the pda but I still can't 'Power Down' the pda via software or a hotkey. Thanks

well the xpshutdown program doesn't look right on a vga x51v screen, it is really tiny.
As for iLauncher, I haven't tried it, I have SPB Pocket Plus which is basically the same as iLauncher only I can't "Fully power off" via Pocket Plus. But I still don't see any software that allows you to map to a hardward button a 'Full Power Off', everything seems to make you use the sylus to hit an icon to fully power off. I use TomTom and when in TomTom you can't see the status bar or tray icon unless you EXIT the program (you can't minimize TomTom). So the only way to do a full power off in the program is to hold down the power button.

Handymenu allows you to put the handymenu on the title bar that in turn displays the power off function.
You may want to try some button mapping software that MAY allow you to map the Power off or Full Power off function to a hard button. In AE Button Plus, it will allow you to map the "Power Off" (but not the Full Power Off) to a button (it works even for the unregistered version). But the problem is that sometimes a program of the current screen may temporarily dictate the function of every hard button (as in iguidance) so that the button functions that I set up with AE Button Plus will temporarily be suspended until I exit the current program. I don't know whether TomTom will dictate the buttons like iguidance.

yeah but you have to press and hold the power button in order to do a full power off. It's sorta hard to press and hold the power button when the car is bouncing around on the road. That's why I wanted to map the full power off to one of the buttons on the bottom of the pda like the calender button, so a single press and the x51v does a full power off.
I would just keep the x51v in suspend mode when not in the car, but I have this issue where when I put the x51v into suspend mode while it's in my Seidio powered car cradle, after like 20,30,50 minutes, etc... the screen turns on to this white blank screen and stays like that. The only way to get the pda to boot back up is to do a cancelled hard reset. So I am not sure what's up with this white screen, but if that didn't happen I would just keep it in suspend mode at all times because it turns back on way faster when in suspend mode and also the battery drain during suspend mode is very very small. And since I am back in driving the car at least every 24 hours I don't think the x51v battery would go totally dead while in suspend mode. As soon as I turn the car back on the battery gets recharged through the car mount anyhow..
