Question PSshutXP

I keep seeing this software mentioned, but I don't exactly see the point of it. To soft reset, just press the button on the back. How hard is that? And what is the point of Shutdown?

I actually love this program. I use a rhinoskin case. While it is not dificult to remove it from the case to soft reset, it is much more convenient just to push a button on the desktop.

# You can also schedule all these functions using timer dialog;

Extra, nice but not necessary

I too love the app. I figure the less I have to physically push the Power button, the longer my Axim should last.

I might see your point, but I'm still skeptical of the whole app.

RE: Soft resets. Even though it isn't that difficult to pull your Axim out of the case, I can see where it is a little more convenient.

I suppose I'll install it and give it a try.

Just wait until those little black rubber feet start peeling away from the case, then you'll feel differently.

Two things to like about it: 1) It's free, and 2) It's a lot easier than reaching around and pushing into that hole for a soft-reset. Plus, as others have noted, it saves your system a little wear and tear pulling it out of and pushing it back into a case.

My X50V can be reset without removing it from the Innopocket Magnum case because there is a hole in the back of the case for this purpose.

Also, iLauncher V3 provides a software interface.

If you have neither of these, PSsutXP might just fit the bill for you.

Anybody tried on X51v/A12. When I tried to install it is saying the installation is not successful. I tried few times and gave it up.

Yes, I have it working on X51v with ROM A12. It's been a while since I installed it but I don't remember doing anything special. I do vaguely remember needing to get the latest version when I first installed it (on my original ROM) because an earlier version did not install.

Ravi.
I have X51v w/ A12 ROM and have not had any trouble with it. Make sure it is installed in main memory.

yea, I downloaded the VGA version (psshutxp_eng_vga.xscale.cab) and when I click it in the explorer of my Axim, it is saying "Installation of psshutxp_eng_vga.xscale.cab was unsuccessful". Not even showing the option where to install.

any thoughts?

Ravi.
