SBSH iLauncher vs Spb Pocket Plus - Opinions?
I'm interested in hearing opinions on these two programs, because I plan on buying one. I know that Pocket Plus is an established staple of the PPC market, but iLauncher seems to do almost everything that it does for less money. Am I missing something?
It looks to me like the two big things that Pocket Plus has on iLauncher are the PIE enhancements and the file explorer enhancements. I believe that both of these are non-issues for me, as I plan on purchasing Resco Explorer and Netfront. Anyone care to share their 2 cents? Thanks, -Rhys

If customer support is important to you NO company can beat SBSH. I say check out both of the trials and see what works for you. I use Ilauncher myself.

I use iLauncher due to the configurability of the program, plus the relatively smaller program overhead (see Menneisyys' reviews on both programs). Besides, as far as the task management and close button functionality's concerned, Wisbar Advance 2 does it all for me.

I have tried both and bought the iLauncher. I had trouble unistalling Pocket Plus and in the end did a hard reset. However, this was not a big deal. After using iLauncher for a month, I noticed my axim SLOWED way down. My primary application is ePocrates. It is a relatively large program and would take forever to load. While iLauncer is still on my axim, I do not use it. When iLauncher is not in use, my axim moves right along. Maybe I customized iLauncher too much. Now I do not use any launcer at all and am happy. Seems like a trade off, fancy screen or speed. I NEED the speed and want the fancy.
Just my humble opinion from a relatively new axim user.

Opinions? Yes .... there undoubtably will be opinions. Likely a far greater sum than two cents worth of opinions.
Search is your friend as there has been a plethora of threads on this very topic. And trial each product to see which works best for you. Other than the two conflicting features (Safe Mode and X=Real Close), which you would be best to test serially, disabling in one and then in the other, the two products could probably be trialed simultaneously. Click on the link below for my opinions.

SPB Plus for me. Reasons?
I've heard that ilauncher uses less memory but my opinion is somewhat different - I'm able to install SPB Plus onto an SD Card. The install leaves plusservice.dll and plusactions.dll in the main memory (default Windows folder). Using MemMaid, I'm able to move plusactions.dll to an external card and it works like a dream. This leaves plusservice.dll which only takes up 100kb of main memory. iLauncher, on the other hand still installs components into the main memory (Program Files) and it leaves ilauncher.dll in there as well, which I'm NOT able to move. I am a newbie with the PDA, but my own experience tells me that ilauncher uses up around 1mb more RAM than SPB Plus does. Am I wrong? ![]()

I'll say my problems with SPB products are that they force me to use other SPB products and they have a much larger memroy footprint. I don't believe that iLauncher even uses 1MB total unless you have the meters installed in main memory.
SBSH allows so much more customization!!! Plus, if you use Pocket Breeze you can use any weather program as a tab - not just one companies. Another big plus - Aximsite members get a discount!!! But, try both. Then choose.

Personally I'm an SPB man myself. I tried them both and SPB just clicked for me.
The best advice at the end of the day is what 'Truth' wrote above - download the trials and see what clicks. Just make sure you allow yourself ample time to test them out before you make your choice. Also don't forget to finish this post off with what you opted for in the end; it's always helpful after reading a thread when the person who started it comes back and says what they did and gives a brief why. All the best.

I use SBP Pocket Plus and dairy and weather, i think they're great. I tried SBSH products before but they really slowed my devise down. As soon as I uninstalled them all was fine again?

Try ilauncher
I recently tried and purchased the new updated version of ilauncher -
This program has not slowed down at all my x51v. I really, really, like this progam. I also bought Pocket weather. I also use Resco Explorer. ilauncher is simple to use and really has helped my Dell to become really easy to use. Also their support is excellent. They email you right back and answer any questions you have. If you send an email to Amit Regev, SBSH Mobile Software amit@sbsh.net he will send you a 30% off coupon if you tell him you are a member of the aximsite. There is a big thread on the new version of ilauncher.

I bought Pocket Plus. I tried ILauncher. I uninstalled both. Instead I have been using Wisbar Advance Desktop for a very long time now.
Resco Explorer is a great tool, and a much better choice than the Explorer add-ons in PocketPlus.

Purchased both, using iLauncher - Smaller footprint and great support.
@gsalp - strange. I'm also using ePocrates and I don't see any slow down. I have the data files running on my SD card to save main memory. Would that make a difference for you?
