Internet browser

Out of the blue my Internet Explorer started tweaking after years of good service, hook up to my home network no problems, MSN messenger works, but when I go to use Internet Explorer----it always gives me the " Page not found " warning when I try to go to a website so I am frustrated trying to figure out the problem, I have searched the forums and tried some of the reccomendations but found that no one has really found the solution to this problem, so I have decided to try Opera mini for a new browser, but when I get on their home site it wont let me download anything and its painfully slow to try to navigate ---- can someone offer me some solutions or links or anything so I can get the internet function on my Axim X50V functional again?

What have you already tried? Make sure your connection settings are set to "WORK" (not "Internet") and try clearing your cache, temp files, cookies, etc.

I assume you're using PIE in 2003se; have you cleared your cache and history? [tools/options/memory/delete files ( and history)] Have you soft reset?
edit: great (I hope) minds think alike

Did you make sure your connection settings are set to WORK?

What makes me think that the problem is soley with PIE is that I KNOW im connected to my home wifi because I can access MSN Messenger and chat online no problems, just darn PIE wont let me access any websites without giving me the " Page cannot be found " anytime I attempt to access a website

Desktop: firewalls can be fiddly when it comes to letting programs access the Internet.

On edit: this was a pretty stupid post I mean the router of course (unless you are accessing the Internet via the pc). Firmware upgrade?

No the firewall on my router has not been updated , I have changed nothing on the router I guess what confuses me is if my router was fouled up, how could I access the internet and use MSN messenger? And yes to a earlier question of if I have tried to access different websites-----any that I try always gives me the same " Page cannot be found " btw--I have did a reset on the router and not change

Try this!

Taken me a few hours of head scratching and slamming it into the wall but what worked for me was making sure that the axim was not trying to use a proxy server:

Go to settings > settings > connections:
If you have an option like "Edit Proxy Servers" go there and UN-check "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet" - Obviously make sure that the box "This network connects to the internet is checked"!

Things to make sure as well as some of the other ideas here:
make sure you can ping something on your network - pref another pc (from command prompt type ipconfig to find out what it's ip address is)
If you can't ping successfully then there is a network issue not (just) a prob with IE.

On axim settings > Dell WLan utility > tools > enter ip address of target pc > start

Thank you , I checked that and all good to go with the " proxy server box unchecked " but I do have a update----took my router down to radio shack---guy is pretty tech saavy down there and he reformatted my router and made sure it was working correctly and he was able to log on to the net with it , but I could not, so then I tried to log onto his wifi network and still same problem--btw I am using Odyssey Client wich I really enjoy, but back to the point, dont think there is a router ,internet, firewall issue here, it seems to be PIE on my Axim So any other suggestions? --- should I just bag the PIE and download another browser? ---- Would love to try opera, but cant get the download page to open while using Internet Explorer--think Microsoft is being a buggar and making it difficult to access a different internet browser
