Pkt Assistant/ pkt Informant vs Outlook

Hi people. I was wondering what the benefit is to getting Pocket Assistant or Informant as opposed to just using Outlook. They seem very similar in nature.
Any advise from users of these fine products would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Dale.

I really like my Pocket Informant 2007, and it integrates very nicely into PocketBreeze as well. It has quite a lot of bells and whistles well above just Outlook alone. If you haven't perused its manual, check it out here. I really like the flexibility of setting up appointments and the fine granularity the start/ending times can be set to. The task filtering is excellent as well. I recommended this app to one of our account execs and he really liked the app. It's powerful, with lots of features, but still easy enough for casual use.

Pocket Assistant is separate product but is only a subset of the features of Pocket Informant; really more like Contact Breeze. Not comparable to Pocket Informant at all.

In any case, there are some additional features that Pocket Informant brings to the table above and beyond the standard PIM applications. If you ever had a Palm PDA and ran DateBk3, DateBk4, DateBk5, or DateBK6 you will miss these features with the standard PIM applications of WM2003SE or WM5. Pocket Informant provides these features. Some of them are features such as linking, extended capabilities associated with recurring appointments, and custom views. There are more.

Pocket Informant along with Pocket Breeze is one of the most awesome combinations of apps out there. I would highly recommend that you at least try it out.

Those guys said it all, but let me expand one the key point to me, linking. You can't do it in pocket Outlook. It's such a simple thing. You click on your contact and choose appointment, call, or whatever action you want to perform. And those records stay with the contact.

Pocket Informant is a program that Microsoft should have designed (or a least place it on WM5 for free).
The Pocket Outlook is terrible. It's not even close to the Desktop Outlook.

Is there a big difference between Pocket Informant and PocketBreeze?

I've been using PocketBreeze with ContactBreeze for a few weeks and really like both products. Would Pocket Informant bring me anything new that I am currently missing?

I'd always assumed that as both are PIM's, that they both had similar features.

Read THIS THREAD about PIMs vs Today Plug-Ins.

Also, the most current PockeBreeze version does not use ContactBreeze, although a new and revamped ContactBreeze is supposed to be forthcoming.

PI on Axim has been a major disappointment for me, going from 3-4 sec startup time on iPaq 2215 to 11-12 sec on Axim X51V. PB by its nature is much faster, so for now that's what I am sticking to.
