Question ActiveSync

When-ever I disconnect via the PDA from activesync. Once removed I get this message informing me that the connection has been lost and should I disable the COM port...This seems a little odd as I have already disconnected via the software before removing the Axim. Any suggestions on how to overcome this petty annoyance? Thanks in advance.
