Backup software

Just a quick question. I have read on this site that some of you fine folks don't like the backup software that comes with the X51V. Why is that? I have not tried it myself, but have looked at it, and it seems easy to use and thorough.
If it is junk, is SPB Backup, or Sprite backup better?
Any thoughts will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dale

It boils down to this - If you use your Pocket PC just for calendar, tasks, and contacts, the built-in backup works great.

If your like some of us that have built up our PPC almost to the point of Laptop functionality (tons of apps and critical data), the built-in backup utility falls short.

Or, if you're as paranoid as me, you have both Spb and Sprite backup your PPC every night, and keep the last 7 backups.

Cool

The built-in backup didn't work after updating to the latest ROM.. I followed the NASA directive and had a sprite backup ready as a 'secondary'. The built-in backup gave me a bogus error message after ROM update ....The sprite backup had me back in business in 5-10 minutes.......

I sync my Axim with my PC multiple times aday, so I have my PIM stuff in two places. I then do a full Axim backup with Spb Backup every 15 days. I keep a copy of that backup on my SD card and all of the backup copies on my PC, which are then bruned to DVD during my monthly PC backup.
An (X) indicates a Wi-Fi post from my Axim X51.

OK, since we are talking backups, this is what I do...

My x50v is backed up nightly. I keep seven encrypted backups on my CF card at all times.

Once a month, if I have a stable configuration on my PPC, I backup my SD and CF cards to my laptop.

Every Sunday, I do a quick backup of my laptop. Its a progressive backup, so its fairly fast.

I use my laptop for Studio recordings. I make a backup to an ESD key after every session. Once I finish a recording, I burn the files to a CD.

I back up my college homework all the time, to an ESD key. Usually once a night.

Our PC that my wife uses is backed up once a month. Sometimes she backs it up more often if she is doing a lot of work.

That about covers it. It seems like a lot of messing around, but actually it isn't that bad.

Sprites the only app that can restore after a rom upgrade so 10points for guessing which one is better

Restore Failed with Sprite and Spb!

Unfortunately, even with two backup programs running, they both both failed to give me an adequate restore after a hard reset.

Of course, I wonder why this happened.

I have read about problems with Wisbar and backups?

Any other programs interfere with backup/restore process?
