Wondering if utilities like this exist.

Is there a utility to use my axim with a dialup modem as a phone? Might be kinda fun.

Is there a program that can utilize the mic and make the headphones sound act like noise canceling headphones?

What about a download manager other than the VitoMobileDownloader. Or a Dialup modem stats util to display stats on time on speed etc?

I know thats a bunch but summer is driving me nuts already!

RE: Using Dialup modem and Ax as phone.

Even if such utilities exist, your modem has to be 'voice' compatible; and I don't think there are any CF models that are voice-modems.

It would be cool that they made a CF-voice-modem though, cuz then ppl could come up with 'voicemail' and answering machine programs.

Cheers.

Wow! A noise canceling appy would be pretty sweet!

Dont know of any software that would allow you to use your ax as a phone but I found a couple other apps you might want to look at.

Slim Pocket FTP Client
Cellular Phone and Network Connection Monitor

I have never tried them myself so I dont know if they are any good, but they might be worth a look.

Check out a freeware product from Microsoft called Portrait.

You can set it up using a WiFi card and chat (VoIP) with other computers on your network by using their NETBIOS names or IPs.
They have versions for the PPC and PCs.

Kind of like turning your Axim into a walkie talkie. Pretty cool.
