Moving DLL files to save RAM

I have SKTools for my x51v. I'm reading about moving DLL's from third party softwares to storage cards to conserve ram. However, I prefer to trust the experts on this forum.

What do I need to change in registry editor to make the proper change for the DLL's?

Is there a list of programs that "need" to be installed to the RAM in order to work?

Are there any person who is familiar with doing this who can instruct me or point me into the direction that I can best learn to do this?

I know this is not a job for novices such as myself. However, I really want to conserve some more program memory outside of the basic stuff that i have read (clearing cache, temporary internet files, cookies, ect.,)

Hey thanks for the help or direction in advance!!!

again I'm new to this so if this doesnt make any sense...I will clarify if need be!!!

If your using WM 5.0. moving .dll's will not save you RAM. It will save you ROM (the equivalent of hard drive on a desktop)

If your still wm 2003 then it will free up space for programs running in memory because wm 2003 devices don't have (user accessible) ROM everything is stored in RAM .

To move the .dll's your best bet is sktools or pocket mechanic pro. Both have automated utilities that relocate .dll's and make the corresponding registry changes. Just be sure to backup your device first. Relocation of .dll's can cause problems especially with today plug-ins.

WOOOOOW!!!

I'm glad you said that. I never knew that. I do have WM5.0. It makes no since to do that then. Thanks for reply speedy1979 and CharlyV.

Thanks again for the update.

My dilemma then is how do create more memory on my PPC?

Have any of you tried that upgrade chip? Something like 64 to 128mb? I know its pricey but maybe thats an option?

I dont know!!!!!!

Really!

I couldnt afford to loose my warranty. I guess a person will have to have a back up PDA in order to take advantage of that!

Thanks for the insight!
