Agenda Fusion 5.0 released today

http://www.developerone.com/press/po...endafusion.htm

For those of us who bought AG 8 months ago, our free upgrades top out at 4.93, apparently.

If you bought at version 4.9x, you will get 5.0 gratis.

I can't keep upgrading these expensive programs, so when people get 5.0, please post about it, and let us know any new "can't live without" features, okay?

For one, I'd like to be able to highlight or change colors for any given day on my calendar. Easily! I know there are a million default colors, but I'd like to block out trips without working too hard at it...
What if this weren't a rhetorical question?

As often as I use Agenda Fusion, I am going to get the upgrade no matter what. I think it is well-worth the money. The thing is I am not sure which version I did purchase. My Handango receipt did not specify version. I was going to download as soon as it was available, but I guess I would wait several days see if I got the registration code from Developer One for a free upgrade.

I called Developer One to find out how much the upgrade cost if we are not qualified for the free upgrade. It is $14.95 for anyone who purchased AF prior to version v4.90.

Can't wait!

For those who had never upgraded a PIM app, I would strongly recommend backuping the PIM first. Then back up your Outlook as well. The Axim Back Up program has an option to just back up the PIM data only. I wrote from my personal experience. I ended up with two of everything after I upgraded to v4.93. I must have answered a question incorrectly. It would have been extremely messy if I hadn't backed up so I could have something to fall back on. Not that you would be as careless as I was .

Thanks for the info on the upgrade price, drop, maybe that wouldn't be sooo bad. I'll wait to see what folks think about the new version.

Um...forgot to backup again. Just installed 4.93... I'm afraid to go and look.

What if this weren't a rhetorical question?

It would be nice if DeveloperOne actually released AF 5.0 today. I can't find it anywhere on there site and Handango hasn't been updated either...Strange...Maybe tomorrow...

Currently 7:53 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and www.developerone.com is not loading right. Could they be uploading 5.0? I am very curious. I have been debating on getting AF (over PI) and downloaded the trial. I am pretty much sold on AF. Hopefully it will be up tomorrow.

Even though the site appears to be down, you can download Agenda Fusion 5 here.

Is this the trial? I would assume so.

Yes, it is the trial and it also has boxes for you to type in the registration info should you decide to register.

I tried it and I think that I will stay with v4.93 at least for a while. The Contacts is missing the split view (list of contacts at the bottom and details at the top). In the Month view the month grid is smaller than before which reduces its "at a glance" functionality. Altogether, while with the previous versions I basically never had to tap the Show/Hide Details button, I find now that I have to do that constantly. And the Today screen plugin is still MIA.

Thanks for the advice Fuzzy John! Have you tried Pocket Informant? If so, how did you like it?

I tried it back at v3.3 and I just downloaded and installed v4.01. What attracted me to Agenda Fusion was mainly the split views that Pocket Informat did not and does not have. Unfortunately Agenda Fusion seems to be losing them.

First comment for PI compared to what I remember from v3.3 is the increased speed.

I am not gonna much more playing with either program today.

Asking for registration codes and/or pirated software is not allowed on Aximsite.com. Please do not let this happen again. Thanks. --deftech

Thanks in advance!
If you bought v4.9 and you qualify for the free upgrade to v5 you will get your registration info shortly. Use the program in trial mode until then.

If you do not qualify for the free upgrade you'll just have to buy v5 or try somewhere else to get the registration info.

OK... I have the Tasks and Contacts splitter bars back. The problem is that on a clean install the registry settings that control these splitter bars are apparently wrong which probably places them out of reach (so they cannot be dragged).

I replicated into the test installation of the AF 5 registry the options I read from the AF 4.93 registry and both splitter bars showed up:
HKLM/Software/Developer One, Inc./Agenda Fusion/
changed the data for Contacts.Opt

Same for tasks:
HKLM/Software/Developer One, Inc./Agenda Fusion/
changed the data for Tasks.State

If you install AF 5 on top of v4.9x then v5 will inherit the correct registry values.

Thanks, FJ. I'll be interested to see your views on this new version, as you have time to investigate v5. I'm pretty stable/happy on v4.92/3 right now, but once you all flesh out the new capabilities, who knows? If you couldn't have the split bar, that would have been it for me, too.

Has anyone found a new review, or details of what Developer One is claiming for this new release?
What if this weren't a rhetorical question?
