I'm presuming you are referring to Pocket Internet Explorer?
If you browse with Internet Explorer on your desktop/laptop, you can create a Mobile Favorite which stores the page (you can set the link depth, etc.) offline. You should have a button on your IE toolbar that looks like a Pocket PC called Create Mobile Favorite. If not, use Tools -> Create Mobile Favorite. Once you have those set, use Tools -> Synchronize (this is where you can set how you want each one to download & sync) and IE will go and download all your Mobile Favorites. ActiveSync will automatically export them to your Pocket PC for viewing in Pocket Internet Explorer. You can also use Avantgo, which is an offline web service which will also update through ActiveSync. Set up an account (it's free up to 2mb) at http://www.avantgo.com then go into Pocket Internet Explorer, click Avantgo, and set your account stuff there, and it will sync automatically for you. There are also other services such as Mazingo but they use their own application for viewing, not Pocket Internet Explorer.

Thanks Talyn.
I am still not sure I understood that. I have everything you described set up. My Axim synchronizes all the web sites in my favourites. But, now I would like to view the site OFFLINE, which means the web site is viewable when my Ax is not on the cradle, not synchronize and I am, lets say, on the road....(with No wireless...). I do understand that i would not be able to click anything to go on links etc. But, I would like to see lets say one page only....some content etc. is that possible?..... Lets say i would like to see our two posts here...when i am on the go.....could I do that?...lets say i dont have time to sit now and read it and I would like to read it when i am on the road....could I do that?...I understand that is possible...but when I click on pocket IE.....it searches the sites and give me a pop up message that I am not connected....which is true....but i still want to see something "saved"....if it "saved"....somewhere in the memory....?!?... Do I make any sense here? is it possible?

There is something available at handango called WebCopier...but, it's kind of expensive. Plus, I know there's a couple of more programs out there that do the same thing but I can't remember what the names of the programs are.
I've never tried what Talyn's talking about but, it sounds like the same thing (offline browsing). Take a look at your PC above the address bar. There should be a little icon that looks like a pocket pc....if you just place your mouse over the icon it should say "create mobile favorites" (as Talyn's instructions describe). Once you find it, follow the rest of Talyn's instructions.

Yes, the Mobile Favorite can be used online or while in the cradle (same thing, I suppose) or if you run the Sync Manager from IE, ActiveSync will store the pages for offline viewing on your Pocket PC. Same with Avantgo, etc.

I use Sunnysoft World Off-line. www.sunnysoft.cz It's great and costs only $8. Go to the website, choose the English site and then look for World Off line on the left hand column. With this software you don't need to use your desktop at all. You can download websites (to view later) directly onto the Axim. I use my wireless connection for this. (you don't use active sync).

if you happen to have MultiIE it's even simpler than that as MultiIE will let you save pages you're viewing in pocket IE.
another option would be to view the page in PIE and then pull the page out of the cache on your PPC.

Everyone has forgotten one important step in creating the Mobile Favourite. If you wish to view it 'offline' you must set the webpage to "Make Available Offline".
One way to do this: In IE, click Favourites, navigate to Mobile Favourites, popout displays websites in Mobile Fav's. Right-click on the webpage you wish to make viewable offline. One option is "Make Available Offline". Click it. To load the page, click Tools in IE and the Synchronize. IE will DL the page info as you have requested and you can then sync it to your Ax. Selecting the files to be viewable offline doesn't work. When going to favorites in Pocket IE it shows it (the offline favorite) in black (all other non-offline favorites are grayed out) like it should, but when you try to bring it up it says I'm not connected and won't show the page. Any ideas?

If so, have you had your desktop browser "synchronize" offline favourites? This let's the browser download the webpage into your desktop's memory. From there, you can now sync it with your Ax. Each page is an item under 'Favorites" in Activesync. Make sure AS is set to sync Favorites. In short, you must 'sync' your offline fav's with your desktop browser, which will let you sync it to your Ax. Chris...

I have the same problem as alt33000. Rather than getting the web page content onto my Ax, I am only getting a link, so that I also get the popup message "Unable to connect with current settings". I have been through this carefully many times, including creating the mobile favorite, setting the link depth, ensuring that "make available offline" is checked, syncing the favorites folder in AS. I certainly get files onto the Ax, but in all cases only links. It has been suggested that AvantGo may be conflicting. I am successfully getting pages synced through AvantGo, but not through Mobile Favorites. I certainly wish I knew the answer, because for one-time information such as maps and directions, Mobile Favorites would be much handier.

There shouldn't be any conflicts with AvantGo. I have both AvantGo and offline mobile fav's synched each morning with no problems.
Assuming your using desktop WinIE 5.x - 6.x, have you gone to 'Tools', selected 'Synchronize' and watched it successfully pull down the 'net content? You can see the manual sync page as it loads each webpage into it's cache, and then it should report that it has successfully updated your offline info. Chris...

Then I cradled the Ax and synced with the desktop, newly updated items do appear in PIE favorites. All items appear as a shortcut, that is the icons show the shortcut bent arrow on the lower left. Tapping the shortcut brings up the message "unable to connect with current settings. To change your connection settings, tap settings" Tapping settings brings you to the internet connections setup, so the shortcut must be a link to the online page, not to a stored offline page. I then went back and confirmed that on desktop IE6 the Mobile Favorite has checked "make available offline". I also loked in Active Sync 3.7, options-sync options-favorites-settings, and made sure that the "synchronize offline content pages" is checked. I must still be missing something.
