Hi all,
Just to share my experience, wondering if anyone experiencing the same problem as me.... I just got my Axim 3 days ago and I've tried out the Xscale Ctrl after finding out that my Axim's bus speed is only 99MHz (PXA255, A05, WM2003). I decided to try out the program to increase the bus speed to the optimal 199MHz. However, when the bus speed is increased, I found that the access to the CF card is very unstable, resulting in Axim read the card as empty. I quickly revert the bus speed back and I can see the files in the card again. However it did corrupt one of my directories and I need to re-format the CF card in order to get rid of it. Since then I have keep the Axim in its stock processing speed. Is this a hardware limitation? Find it's funny since most of you guys here are pretty successful with the program.... ![]() | ||||

It's probably because you have the Axim Basic. people in this PXbus thread have the Axim Advance. You may also want to be sure you set everything properly. check out Intel® PXA255 Applications Processors Developer's Manual Table 3-1 on page 67.

I made the same bad experience with Xscale Ctrl on my AXIM X5 Advanced (PXA255, A03, 2002). After i switched the bus speed to 199MHz and tried to access to my CF-Card (128 MB) all Files and Directories was corrupted. I had to re-format the CF Card. Now i use the freeware tool Turbo Tray, which do not change the bus speed and since that i have no problems.
But i would like to increase the bus speed to, if i could be sure that my files would be OK. Perhaps someone is going to find out the reason (i hope so) __________________________________________________ - Axim X5 Adv. (PXA255, A03, 2002) - Sandisk 128MB CF card - Toshiba 128MB SD card | |||||
