Great app for soft resets!

Either I'm soft resetting too many times or the rubber is weak on the axim but I have a hole on my reset button.

Found this little free app for soft resets. Good thing is it asks you to confirm the reset unlike some other utils.

only For PPC 2003.

Yes it's free but It's takeing a big part of the today screen.
If you can spend 3$ take a look at HandyMenu (the link is in my signature) it installs only a small icon in the task bar, it's only 75KB and it's way more than just SoftReset

The selection screen pops up only when you click on the small shutdown icon. Its not there all the time. The picture shows the background is greyed out like XP style. All it does is soft reset or turn off without all the memory resident bloat. Nothing more nothing less.

The other buttons go to their app that locks your device unless the signature matches the one you set it up with. I demo'd it when it first came out. All in all, it is a very cool app. Two things turned me off to it:

1) The cost is $39.95
2) One of the sample skins included is of half naked women

Cheryl you are referring to the full version. The above is freeware and only has the restart and turn off enabled.

Yamawad I tried xpshutdown but its way slower to come up than these.

Sorry, I should've been more specific. The other buttons work with Signwise , an app that allows you to lock your PPC. It is unlocked with your signature. Very cool little bit of software. It works great, just costs a lot.

I just tried the free version, do i have to go to Program to launch this dialog, or there is an easier way for launching it?

there should be an icon on the start menu. If not you can put it there by start/settings/menu.

Or you can get a laucher util like tdlaunch and put it on your today screen.

I still prefer trancreatives nice start, it has a great skinnable password screen and includes a shutdown reset thing in the style of win xp.

There is a little freeware tool called softereset.exe that is or was available. It's about 2KB (if that) and I just created a shortcut to it from my start bar. So tap on Start, tap on Soft Reset and it's done.. No fluffy options etc.

I installed that program last week or so, but cannot get the skins to work. Should I have installed it to Program Memory, instead of my SD card? I cannot read Russian, and they didn't put all the skinning instructions in English.
