Question Screen Rotation

Does anyone know of a reliable piece of software for rotating the screen in Windows Mobile 2003. I have looked at DotPocket but it does not support 2003 yet and I have read mixed views of the Nyditot package. To be honest I don't want extra features I just want to turn the screen round to make excel easier to read and to play some games.

Ok did some more looking and for $9.99 you can get JS Landscape but like Dotpocket there is not yet a version for Pocket PC 2003

I used JS Landscape (pc2002) and all I have had is trouble since then. The axim freezes when I use the soft keyboard and I have had to do a hard reset and backup from last week to remove JSLandscape completely. Beware!

I have to say that I tried JS Landscape on my X5 on 2002 and the first time I tried to switch the view, the axim went into reset cycles and would not recover. Hard reset time... not a happy camper. Needless to say, never touched JS Landscape again.

Just my experience, i;m sure others have had better luck.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll probably wait for Dotpocket now but would be grateful for any advice or experiences anyone has had with either this or Nyditot.

I tried Nyditot, it's very good, but seems to suffer from "feature creep" a little bit.

I had exactly the same problem with JS Landscape as paulbarton and klayton. A thoroughly dangerous program better avoided at all costs. Needless to say I removed it.

I really like nyditot. I've found that it works really well with the pocketop kbd as well. My kbd didn't come with a stand, but I only paid 6 cents + shipping, so I can't complain I guess.

For those of you who have used Nyditot and say it works well, what Axim setup are you running?

I have seen several reports from Axim users who have had very bad experience with it and it has made me very reluctant to try it.

Here are the comments I'm referring to.

JS Landscape...absolutely horrible, as best. I had to totally kill then disconnect the battery due to what it did to my Jornada. I now not that much long after purchased an axim, it rocks! But the whole point of my thread was to say js landscape stinks, dont use it.

I have recently tried dotPocket from www.dotpocket.com
It is an excellent program which works perfectly for me. The latest v2.1 version has been specifically tested to work on the Axim and will also work with WM2003.

They give you a generous 30 day evaluation period.

The program is in two parts. The first enables you to rotate or flip the screen and alter the resolution from 320 x 240 up to 800 x 600. It requires a reset (which is done from within the program itself) if the resolution is changed but NOTwhen the screen is just rotated.

The second part displays the Axim screen on your desktop allowing it to be printed out. You can rotate the desktop image and actually input the Axim program from the desktop using the mouse or the keyboard.

Perhaps a little pricey at $30.00 if all you want is screen rotation, but it is a very reliable, easy to operate and efficient program. I strongly recommend it.
