Wisbar, ICBar, or Dell Switcher...and why?

Which program do you use to switch between / end running programs? Is there another one that I should take a look at? I'd really like a utility that makes the X button actually close the program instead of having to open the switcher menu. What do you guys/gals like, and why?

Thx,

I use ICBar. It makes the "X" close the progrand and you are able to skin to your hearts content. I have mine looking like XP Silver right now. I love this little program.
Is that an Axim in your pocket, or you just glad to see me?

i would check out Spb Pocket Plus. i don't have a link for you, but it is sold at handango, so you can check it out there. beware, however, because it costs actual money. well worth it imho.

I think HandyMenu by DinarSoft is best in this regards.

Wisbar and IcBar are essentially built from the same idea, both provide the ability to have an actual close button for programs.

They both have their benefits and advantages and you should try both to see how YOU like them. In the end that's all that matters. The best part is they are both free.

P.S. Don't forget WisBar Advance, which is also free and allows full screen skinning.

I guess I am the only one who thinks the Dell switcher is prefectly adequate. I tried out the others, and just didn't like them as much. Maybe it was because I am in the habbit of having a program remain open when I close with the X, so when I want to minimize, I use the X, and when I want to close I use the switcher bar. Also, it is a built in utility, so it doesn't take up any more memory.

i use handymenu just for its on screen soft reset, hard reset and powering off. wisbar advance is my task app. i tried icbar too but wisbar won me over. you just have to try them and pick your preference.

I have to agree with smeg36, I like the dell switcher for the same reason. That and it was already there, so it was the first one I used.

I usually keep inbox open in the background, so email comes in. Clicking the X gets me quickly back to the today screen without losing what I was working on.

I also use Wisbar Advance. I did the Dell Switcher for awhile but I like the extra features of ICBar/Wisbar. I was an ICBar fan up until Pocket SharpMT came out, which didn't get along very well with ICBar at all (at least in beta) but worked fine with Wisbar Advance. And the .skin file for WA just... makes sense. It's so much easier to apply a skin by selecting a single file rather than going through the whole list and applying each graphic one by one.

Oh, and I don't use the 'X = close' feature anyway, I still prefer to minimize apps -- I set close to 'tap and hold X'.
