I used it for a while but it says that it is free. After a couple of weeks it said that trial was over. I got tired of removing it and re-downloading. Let me know how it works for you.

It was some earlier version (1.15 or even before?, I don't remember), witch gave that message. The newest is now 1.19.4.

It says this on that webpage (http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/index.php?soft=688)

Update : . It was a must have, but now it is a time-limited version, not actually a freeware... I stripped down the note from 9 to 6 because of this.

I used to use this until it forced me into my only hard reset of the year. I remember the message saying that you needed to enter the current day of the week using cyrillic characters (and some garbage about being a resident of the former CCCP...)

If the same box still pops up (in Russian) and you really care to use this program (which I don't) then you could install a cyrillic font and punch in the current day of the week (in Russian). You can just search the web for the English-Russian names, locate the same characters on your Russian keyboard and BAM! You're there. Kinda a hassle? i think so too...

Thanks I thought that I was losing my mind. I knew that I had the newest version but tried again anyway. I love the little critter that looks for stuff but once it expires I'm done with it. What else can anybody suggest that will look into bad/old registry files. (bear in mind I know very little about that stuff)

Alright guys, I've solved the mystery of the expiring freeware oxymoron! Isn't that what it is? If it expires, it's not freeware. Wrong! Yes it expires but it's still free as long as you "register" it.

Mr. S-K, himself says, "v1.19.4 is the last freeware version of Remover (Expire time - 10 Jan 2004). v2.0 will be shareware. All users (in the current year [2003] email me (s_k@aport.ru) \Windows\RemoverID.txt and get an unlock code for version 1.19.4."

I reset my Axim system clock to Jan 10, 2004. It didn't expire. Jan 11, 2004, still working. Jan 12, 2004, alive and well. Jan 13, 2004, com'on die. What's going on? Jan 14, 2004, finally-- the dreaded cryptic/cyrillic message!

I emailed Mr. S-K my RemoverID.txt and he replied within the day and gave me my unlock code. Good man, this Mr. S-K. Now my Remover v1.19.4 doesn't expire anymore, even if I reset the system clock to 2009!

If you want to keep this version (it's a great program, really for keeps), request for the unlock code within this year. Are willing to pay for v2.0?

I know this probably sounds stupid, but where exactly is this RemoverID.text file? I looked at the Windows directory and found nothing. Isn't Remover a self-contained .exe file that doesn't actually install onto the Axim? Also, where did Mr. S-K mention all this? (I checked on his geocities website and found nothing.)

Sorry if this is an idiotic question..(it's still early here!)

Thanks.

Hi Gigi,

RemoverID.txt file should be in Windows directory. I send that file to S_K yesterday and he send the unlock code to me today.
His note is mentioned here for example http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/remover.shtml
