Active Sync Utilities

As thousands I am having continualtrouble with ActiveSync. My latest problem is that it will not complete the sync operation. It starts syncing then stops and flashes (very fast) an sync error and reverts back to my pevious sync screen.

I remember seeing 2 free software utilities that when run corrects Active Sync problems. Cannot remember where I saw them.

Active Sync is the weakest link for my Axim 5X.

Also I am running Pocket PC 2002 and I have active sync v3.7.1

UPDATE: 12/23/03: Last night I spent 4 hours with the Active Sync and it still does not work.... I downloaded the latest version of Active sync 3.7.1 (Oct 03) reloaded it(3 times). My computer recognized the Axim and begings the sync then gets about 1/4 way through and stops and gives me an error message that the Sync has failed. I also hard rebooted the AXIM 3 time during this episode. Also I cannot start the Syns process from the AXIM to the computer.
Has something currupted the Active Sync on the AXIM?
I now do not think it is my computer I think it is in the Axim.

I alo tried 3.5 and 3.6 per the suggestion and same error message.

Another question: When you take out the all of the batteries and let all the memory die away and then do a back-up reinstall is that the same as a hard reboot? My back up was made when everything was working, so it should be OK. Does the back up include the active sync and reinstallit? The back updid not work....

Thanks.....

To be honest, after hearing about all of the problems with the recent versions of AS, I have never upgraded from the version that came on the cd with my Axim. You may want to try just uninstalling AS, and reinstalling an earlier version.
