Education software?

Any tips on some good software for students? I'm at the university level, and i've tried the demo for 4.0 student. I was just curious if anyone else has some good tips.

Also for those who are students, is using a program for educational orginization worthwhile, or can you get everything accomplished just as easily via Calendar and Task list?

Thanks for the time!

Back in the day when I was in College, I used an Apple Newton 110. I was able to just use the calendar and task functions built into the newton without trouble. You should be able to do the same here. One thing that might be great is to get a PIM replacement such as Pocket Informant that might help you keep better track of your tasks. Give it a shot!
Later,
James

I attend a University as well, and use my Axim as James mentioned. For the past year (almost) I've just used the standard Calendar and Task applications that are included with any Pocket PC. Every now and then I'll jot something down in Notes as well.

I have begun using Pocket Informant recently, but only since school has been let out for Christmas break. It seems like it will be a very useful PIM replacement as the Spring semester begins.

Also, I have used VITO SoundExplorer to record client meetings, teleconferences, lectures, etc.

I have the MP3 voice recorder I saw mentioned in a link here (by Alexander Zavorine) and I like the idea of using it to record notes, however, It seems to get horrible sound quality unless you talk right into it.

I need to play with it some more still, but where did you get your recorder? Might come in handy.

I finally was able to download Task+ (work had it blocked for some reason) and I think that will help a lot, since I can now see my Tasks and Calender on the page.

I'll probably give PI a try too, I just want to get all my software set on it before the semester starts so I won't tinker with it during the semester and lose anything important.

Try doing a search for CoursePro. I believe I found it on the freewareppc.com website, under the Education thread. I downloaded it over Christmas, so I haven't tried it yet, but it looks pretty good.

Hope that helps,

Scott
