Cool Utilities

Anyone have any rare utilities that you found somewhere that make your Axim do something cool? If so post them here. Its best if they are freeware, but if not, thats fine.

wow... that's the most vague response ever

i saw a utility someplace (i think it was this site) that shuts off the screen but leaves the unit running for playing mp3s, etc

theres a whole list of what people use on their ppcs over at neowin

http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=129542
...and that's all there is to it.

There are masses of utilities available. Try :-

Pocket Mechanic from www.antontomov.com. Costs about $15.00

Remover from www.geocities.com. Used to be freeware.

Sprite Backup Premium Plus from www.spritesoftware.com/downloads. Costs about $20.00 but also includes :-

Space Detective.

Where is my RAM free from Aximsite>Resources>Downloads>Utilities.

Taiyokei is software written in embedded Visual Basic 3.0 which provides abundant data about the Solar System, such as ephemerides, simulations and photo galleries.

Mandelbrot & Co. 2003a This PocketPC application can calculate pictures of 8 Mandelbrot/Julia type complex fractals on your PDA. Easily zoom into selected areas of the fractal.

Ephemeris 1.0 is a program that computes the phase of the moon and the times and azimuths of sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset for any location and date. It can also display a table of sun and moon positions for a given day at 15 minute intervals.

Pen Irazu - v2.04 Pen Irazu is a very simple application that allows you to manipulate your PocketPC without using the stylus or touching the screen. Basically, Pen Irazu displays a pointer like the mouse pointer on your PC, that you move by using the pad.

Yup, quite possibly. Unfortunately many people are too damned lazy to use the search function to discover that which has been discussed at painful lengths and is clearly posted.

Ok, let's be nice. I don't see anyone being lazy here. Hockeydude was asking for unusual utilities - not ones that everyone may be familiar with. Mr K got the idea .

On that note, I was looking thru Pocket PC Magazine online and found this (thanks go to Diane Dumas):

@Sat Orbiter Locator+

This application tracks and displays the real-time trajectories of spacecraft such as the International Space Station, the Hubble Telescope, the Space Shuttle, and the Mars Rovers. You can download the latest images from the Hubble Space Telescope and the Mars Rovers missions and view them on your Pocket PC.

Downloadable from: here

Enjoy!
