If you get rid of them then you don't have them mapped anymore and will not be able to access them anymore.

Why are you wanting to get rid of them.

I am not the original poster, but one of the issues I have with the mapped folders is that when you open an app that last used a network resource, sometimes it starts in that directory. If you're not on the network when you reopen the program, you have to wait for the PDA to look for the network drive before you can access local content. This is mainly an issue in the Windows Media Player and Notes applications.

Another reason the original poster may want to unmap the drive is that the person may simply be away from that computer for an extended period of time. For example my parents have a computer at their home, but I have no use for leaving that drive mapped when I am away at college.

yes sd thats one of the reasons i wanted to unmap it because of the amount of time that it takes to show thats its not there and also because when i was messing around with the network i shared a bunch of folders but i dont want those in the resco screen anymore, i was just messing with them

Was your question answered?

I believe the only way to unmap is to select the network icon in the advanced toolbar (2nd icon from right) and select "unmap drive"
