PPX Questions and Answers Thread
Okay, I have found that after buying PPX [
] and using it some that there are a lot of things that I need to learn about it. I'm starting this thread so that anyone who has questions about PPX can get them answered by those who have the answers. Anyone who has questions, or answer to questions, please feel free to post them. Here is one question that I have: how do you make/use custom images as the pictures that you tap to access a shortcut. Fro example, If I wanted to create a shortcut to the "Control Panel" (it's a feature that comes with PPX, I think) on a skin, how do I make my own image to tap in order to access the link. I hope that this thread helps!

Once you have the image you want to use, save the image as a .bmp using the exact name of the program or link you want to use it for. Example: if you wanted a custom Icon for Pocket Word (\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Pocket Word.link) you would save the image as Pocket Word.bmp Then place it in the image folder within the theme you are using. (usually something like: "name of theme"\Desktop\Images) After that remember to select the "custom" box in the slot properties window, and you should be set. Hope this helps. If you have more questions, ask away, I'll try to explain more clearly.

Thanks for the post! Do you have to save the file as a .bmp from desktop or can you do it from your PPC? If you can, then how? Also, where are the image folders for my themes located?

The only way you could do it on the PPC is if you have an image editing program on your PPC that would allow you to save an image in the .bmp format.
A couple good PPC image editors are Pocket Artist and Photogenics , but both are pretty spendy. That said, I do most of my image editing on the PC and sync them over when I am done.

Okay, that would also explain how you put the file into the particular directory. Since I don't have my Axim Synced to this computer, I'll try it when I get home.

The folder that your themes are in will contain a folder for each theme you have installed. Somewher nside the folder for each theme there will be an "Images" folder, along with all the other information PPX uses to dsiplay your theme.

Here's another question: why when you load the full version (I don't think it happened with the demo) of PPX is the file explorer different than the default one? I'm talking about like when you tap "Programs" it sends you to a different explorer than the default one. I can only assume that this is just something like "PPX explorer" or something like that. Am I correct?

I just loaded PPX and am having difficulty loading the .xui file.
I''ve downloaded the theme, unzipped to a folder, transfered that folder the theme folder under PPX on the Ax. Then went start, settings, interface, install, then located the .xui file on the storage card, clicked ok, then save to themes folder under PPX under program files, and I get "File not found in archive" I click ok and it repeats that 3 times then it says "the package was successfully installed" I then can go to the interface and switch, i see it there but when I switch to that I get the theme with big red X's I don't see the start menu in the lower left. Thanks for any suggestions.

It may be that one UI. Contact the creator. Have you tried other UIs?

I don't think that is it. I've tried winxpse3 and ppxpsilver, they both do the same thing.
Does it sound like I'm going about it the correct way?
