Citrix client for PPC

Anyone know of a citrix client for my ppc, or something that will be compatible with a citrix server?

Citrix has their PPC client available HERE .

It works well...I use it all the time to connect to my company's network.

Citrix is a tool to allow you to run applications remotely via a browser or the Citrix Application Neighborhood. It is really a way of moving from thick client to a thin client structure. Instead of displaying the entire remote desktop like VNC and TS will do only the app will appear on your terminal as if you are running it locally. For application execution Citrix is far better and more robust than TS.

true, it can display an app only, but try setting it up to connect to the ip of a citrix server, and leave the path out, instant remote desktop.

The citrix client connect to the Citrix Metaframe software that is on the server side. This is a commercial product from Citrix. The client is free. The software is normally sold through VARs. Not only do you have to buy the software but you also have to purchases client connection licenses. This is quite expensive for normal home use.

Also the software is developed for Server installations; normally UNIX builds or Windows 2000/2003 server.

The desktop client is just like operating your own desktop.

But the PPC Citrix client is very similar to a VPN/VNC type session. There is still scrolling and screen manipulation just the same as VNC, regrettably. You can set it for full screen, but then the controls are too small to use or read...just like VNC. The advantage is that the scaling is easy.

I am looking at using the Citrix "go to my pc" which only costs like $20/month. This is totally web based, as one downloads the software for their server and also for the client.

I am still finding out more about it, but it is cost effective and I heard from my network guys works very well WITHOUT buying the expensive VAR systems. Not as comprehensive, but still Citrix geared it to small networks like mine (5 users).
