Turning the touchscreen (digitizer) off?

Is there any program that will turn the screen digitizer (touchscreen) off and reactivate it with a press of a hardware button.

Everytime I use my X5 as a MP3 player in my Krussell leather case, two to three SD card in case with case snapped shut, inadvertent touches/taps to the outside will cause screen touches, which makes the media players stop, pause, and jump to other tracks. This rarely happens without any SD cards or business cards in the case.

Any programs out there or any suggestions will greatly be appreciated

I have a Krusell case also, but don't keep any cards in the slots since I'm afraid pressure will cause them to damage the screen or cause moire patterns.

There may be a setting in System settings - Power to turn off screen activation.
So many programs, not enough ROM

Most MP3 player softwares have a screen toggle function. This works in WMP, and also in my favourite player GSPlayer.

Thanks everyone I'll the screen toggle and map it to hardware key.

FYI. - GSPlayer is my choice audio player. I have tried WMP PPC, Pocketmusic, PocketPlayer (demo),and WinamPAQ, but I kept going back to GSPLayer because of simplicity, 3d effects, and bass boost

I cannot stand GS player, it is too plain. I like having a multimedia rich interface.

PHM Power Toys also offers a free, small program (called screensaver) to disable the display. It can be found here.

Are you aware it can use skins? I actually prefer the simple interface, very Winamp 2 like.
