Odyssey Client

Under Settings --> Connections is an app called Odyssey Client. It was pre-installed on my X30. It appears to automatically load up every time I do a soft reset. It also appears to be rather unstable.

What does this app do? Do I need it? Can I uninstall it somehow? -or disable it so it stops crashing?

Thanks in advance!

I'm just starting to take a close look at Odyssey myself. Odyssey is owned by Funk Software. The tech support URL for Odyssey is www.funk.com/subsections/tec_ody.asp.

I'll post anything I find here. Hopefully other forum contributors will have some input as well.

Odyssey is a manager for wireless networks. It is essentially an alternative to the Dell WLAN utility. Some users have found it helps them to connect to their home and remote networks while others find they can only connect when it is disabled. My suspicion is that the manufacturer of the router that is being used is one of the determining factors, as is security methods and possibly third party software, but I do not have enough hard data to be able to make definitive associations between specific hardware/software and the two methods of connecting.
