Dashboard vs. spb pocket plus vs. wisbar adv

After getting my x50v for Christmas I have done lots of reading here. Great site. However, this is my first post to the site.
My question/dilema is that all of these programs seem to be roughly the same. Am I missing something? Or is it that they all work in conjunction with eachother to produce those great looking Today screens that I covet so much? Thanks in advance.

Good question! I have only tried spb Pocket Plus (as of today) and it's way better than what comes standard on my X50! I have no need to try anything else at this point but I will monitor evaluations of other products as I read them.

I down loaded the trial version of Pocket Plus and haven't a clue if it's a limited version (limited features) or if it's based on a time period (it didn't say when I downloaded it or installed it). So I'll keep using it until it expires! Then, I'd gladly pay for if necessary!

I used both spb Pocket Plus and Wisbar Advance. Actually both complements each other, and both do have some same features. Not a problem for me.

I don't know about Dashboard, but you can and really should use both WA2 and SPB Pocket Plus together. They really complement each other.

If you are going to run both WA2 and PocketPlus on a X50v, brace yourself for freuqent system freezes and expect to do 3-4 soft resets/day. Many of us are having this difficulty, and it seems to be related to using both of these programs together.

Thanks for the "heads-up". I have gathered that from all of the other folks running these 2 together that soft resets will become common.

It sounds as though the Wisbar guys are working on an update. Perhaps it will adress this problem.

Now it makes sense why people always inquire about a soft reset hole in a hard case.

I use SPB Pocket Plus but have mever tried the other two - Try all of them and let me know which one seems to be the best to you. That way you can be sure to get what works for you. Let us know which one you choose.

Does the Today screen plug-in for brightness control work on your X50 using Spb Pocket Plus? It doesn't work on my X50mid.

Me either. It seems to have a mind of its own. I can move the slide bar, but it just goes back to where it wants to go!

I also use Wisbar Advance + Pocket Plus combo on my x50v.

no, the light slider doesn't work...but if you have music playing it kinda looks like a sound meter :P

I also had major freezes and lock ups when I first tried WA and PP together. I would soft reset and it wouldn't even get to the today screen. so I had to do a hard reset(your stuff in Built in Storage doesn't get touched) and I installed WA first then PP on top. works perfectly ever since. originally, I had PP installed and later installed WA on top of it.

I could prolly live without WA, but you need both to skin everything.
You know how when someone lays with their back to you and you lay behind 'em really close and you throw one arm over 'em?
it's called "spooning".
yea, but you gotta put the other arm somewhere. you can either lay on it or shove it in between your bodies; the only other option is to stretch it above your head. but sometimes my arm pops out of socket when I'm sleeping like that. so I was constantly searching for some place to keep my arm, while still laying close to her.
and?
what do you mean 'and'?! that's like a metaphor for a whole relationship.

Yes, a new release of WA2 is about to be released to the WA forums. See http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/for...=1304&start=30
