i dont know if i need any software to copy from pc to my x5 but my pc wont recognize my x5 if i need software can i download it and what is it called thanks

You need to download Microsoft Activesync. Make sure you do not have the Axim connected to your computer until instructed to do so in the install process. Having the Axim connected ahead of time will cause some conflicts and will then require you to go through the uninstall/reinstall process.
