Heart VGA TV Listings on your X50v

Just discovered the free PTVL utility. Available here:
http://ptvl.thumbsupsoft.com/

The VGA Skin can be downloaded here:
http://discussion.brighthand.com/sho...hreadid=117748

This application can be "brute forced to VGA" by using tweaks2k2
or with this freeware: http://pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=1296

The steps to install this utility:
1-Download and install the software (as directed by the wizard)
2-Launch the Weblink program on your PC
3-Go to the z2it website as directed by Weblink to make a quick free registration and select your TV listings lineup for your area
5-Back to the Weblink windows to enter your registered id and PW
6-Activesync
7-Apply the VGA skin shown above (rename the .zip to .esz)
8-Apply VGA brute force to the PTVL program
9-Launch the PTVL on your PPC, select setup/select the VGA skin

Launch the program, the current time and schedule will show right away on your PPC, you use the D-Pad to move horizontally or vertically!

A nice feature with this program: you can highlight the TV program you like and turn on the reminder. The reminder can be once or repetitive (weekly, dayly, etc.)

Never miss a TV program again!

Very nice app !! I don't watch much TV, but sometimes there is a show that I don't want to miss...

Totally FREE, and easy to setup !! Thanks SolSie !!

signed up and used the ripper skin (found in the link to the other forum pg2) in TrueVGA. No Tweaks2k2 brute-force needed. Works great! Thx

Only if you live in the USA or Canada.

I found this out the hard way, by going through the whole sign up, installation etc process.

Only when you get to choose your cable\ satellite provider does it become clear that it's only for North America.

But yes, it appeared to offer a pretty wide selecion of cable\ satellite providers. The installation etc is pretty straightforward, so if you are a "Merkin," I'd say it was worth a punt.

cannot install to X50V

I have tried twice to install this to my X50v. Each time, it installs to my hard drive, but when I go to the Options page in ActiveSync, 'ListingData' is shown but there is no check box next to it so it won't sync up. Any suggestions?

thanks,
booger

Yes, I did. For some reason, I think the problem is with the install because when it gets to the ActiveSync Add/Remove programs screen I never get the prompt to install in the default directory. Could it be because I changed the default install directory on my PC (G:\Program Files instead of C:\Program Files)? I did a file search on my Axim and there are no files named PTVL.

thanks,
booger
